Picked these up from a bootsale for couple of quid couple years back now and have sat on top of my bookshelf since hardly being used,

To me they look homemade, i dont remeimber taking a driver out to see if it had a make on it, will do one day

Anyone tell from the pics?

Cheers

Well the bass/mid driver i'm sure is a Kef B110 :) Not at all sure about the tweeters & they don't look like any early Kef tweeter i have seen. The driver i'd expect to be partnered with the B110 would be the T27 & it's definately not that

I was thinking the tweeter looks like a Wharfdale one ? but might be wrong,

Are the KEF drivers worth out then?

I suggest you look on ebay, it will probably give you an idea what they might fetch. Some of the earlier B110s go for silly money, i have a pair here that have a plain looking steel frame rather than coated in paint & these were used in some speakers i just can't recall right now but go for a lot more than the normal units..

Best look on the bay after checking they work properly ;)

Woah, i have never seen a T27 looking like that  The bass unit is definately a B110. The whole thing shouldn't sound bad at all, just don't expect deep or particularly powerful bass.

Yeah i was quite shocked to see it was a T27,

Where these speakers ever sold as single units rather than a whole unit? the cabients look very well made and for those speakers,

Kef used to do kits of drivers & crossovers yes, they were known as "Kefkits" :eyebrows: My father bought me a kit with 2 x B200 (8" driver) & the T27s & crossovers back in the day for a birthday or xmas present

Nothing like some encouragement, i guess i would have been about 12 or 13 at the time so at the latest it'd have been 1979

So it's basically an LS3/5A in a funny box? Should sound nice. Good buy for a few quid!

Be a shame to break them up if they work ok, if you don't want to use them just sell them as they are.

Ah, that's the one these silverback B110s were used in, cheers for the reminder :)

I also agree with the rest of your reply ;)

Im currently using them on my Realistic amp, sound quite nice tbh.

Woulnt break them up if i did decided to sell i would sell them as a whole unit.
