One thing that always bothered me about Debbie is that her singing voice sounds similar to how deaf people sound when they attempt to speak.

Who's the deaf one? I can't say DH's sounded like that to me.

Eccellent pop band , not quite my cup of tea personally, although I do have a few tracks here and there, the world is a better place for them...

As for young Deborah in her time....ooooooohhhhh etc. ;)

One of David Cronenberg's more intelligent 'visceral' horrors. You can get an idea of what it's all about from this website:

Cronenberg's film of Naked Lunch was a bit of a travesty and completely failed to do justice to Burroughs's book of the same name.

Interesting information Barry, looks like i'll need to buy the book & have a read :eyebrows: I prefer books anyway ;)

Cheers for the heads up!

It's not an 'easy read' by any means: a mixture of 'junky' minutiae and sado-masochistic sexual fantasy, but worth pursuing. The introduction also written by Burroughs is one of the best I have read.

A few years back when Deacon Blue were knocking about, a common pub quiz question was to ask where they got their name from. The answer is that it's the name of a Steely Dan track. The next question should have been (but never was) where did Steely Dan get their name from.
The answer's in the above mentioned book!

It certainly is :stalks:

Also, IIRC, Didn't Boroughs send Naked Lunch to his publisher a few pages at a time but failed to number the pages. Publisher accidentally dropped the whole lot on the floor, picked up all the pages (by now thoroughly mixed up), was going to get Boroughs to sort the pages out, but in the end just said "oh fuck it" and published it as it was!
