Two pairs of 1M MG's for sale in perfect condition. £45 per pair. Thought I'd sell here first. If not, they'll go on the bay.

Hi Ali,
May I ask why you are selling such good interconnects?

In my system, I prefer the Belkins. Not that one is better than the other really, just personal taste.

Plus, the MG's are 1m, which are a little short.

Owning the (now rare as hen's teeth) white Belkins, and having heard them in comparison with both G1000HDs and G2000HDs, the latter of course fitted with WBTs, I can understand why you might prefer the Belkins, as they are tighter and more detailed sounding than G1000HDs, which can add a touch of 'bloom' in some systems. I would add only as a result of the effect of the Canare plugs.

The G2000HDs remain the best interconnect cables I've heard to date, and that's what I use, but then you're talking about an entirely different price.

*However*, what many people might not know, is that by simply changing the Canare plugs on the G1000HDs, and replacing them with Neutrik Pro-Fi types, is that the slight bloom simply disappears. The musical presentation then opens up significantly, and is as crisp and fresh sounding as it is with the Belkins, but still sublimely musical in the way of G1000HDs.....

Now, as you're offering your G1000HDs for £45 (against the full retail price of £75 for the 1m pair you have), what any potential buyer would be getting is effectively £30 towards a pair of Neutrik Pro-fi plugs:

...which for a cost of £96.80 in total (including the purchase of your G1000HDs) would give any potential buyer a superb pair of interconnects that are almost as good as any on the market - I kid you not!

Or perhaps Mark would take a trade-in against a 1m pair of these:

Just some food for thought for anyone looking... ;)

Frankly £6.99 + postage for an interconnect sounds a lot better to me ;)
Just goes to show audiophiles aren’t as stupid as I thought

Hi John,

I'm afraid that your post is a blatant thread-crap, and on someone's for sale thread, so I'll have to ask you to remove it.

You're entitled to your personal views, which you are free to express elsewhere on the forum, but not here.

Cheers!

Marco.

Just calling it as I see it Marco.

If you feel its any more inappropriate than your endorsement then feel free to delete the post.
It’s your forum mate ;)

My post wasn't entirely an endorsement; I was merely attempting to help potential buyers think outside of the box. And anyway, endorsements by users of any equipment or cables advertised for sale are entirely normal and acceptable.

Frankly your comments are nonsense, insensitive, and quite insulting to those who know what decent cables do, not just Ali. However, aside from that, I have asked you to remove your remarks, so kindly do so. I would like you to delete it, as I dislike deleting what others have written. I will not ask again.

Marco.

Do what you’ve got to do Marco.

In that case, you leave me with no option but to ban you for a week. I can't believe you're acting so selfishly and stupidly....!

See you in week.

You may wish to spend some of that time familiarising yourself better with the contents of 'Our Ethos', and consider whether or not you genuinely fit in here.

Comments such as you have made are in direct contravention to what AoS stands for, and one of the reasons why this site was created, which was to get away from the repetitive and tiresome cable 'believer' vs. 'non-believers', and 'objectivists' vs. 'subjectivists' nonsense that occurs regularly elsewhere.

Any further off-topic remarks will be deleted without further warning. Now, let's get back on topic (and to the cables Ali is selling)! :)

Marco.

Hey, no worries, John can say what he likes as far as this thread is concerned. He may appear a bit blunt at times, but I for one appreciate his honesty. :)

Marco

That's very kind of you, Ali, but unfortunately what John did was in direct contravention of our ethos, and when asked kindly to remove his remarks, he didn't. People must learn to respect the way the site is run, and the principles behind it.

If we allowed everyone to thread-crap like that, and express their so-called 'honesty' on classified ads, then no-one would advertise their gear on AoS.

I must stress that I would not have taken the action I did had what John wrote been written anywhere else on the forum, as then he'd have simply been entitled to his opinion. In the classifieds section, however, it's a different ball game.

I trust you understand :)

Marco.
