View Full Version : Hello from Holland
Hi,
I am Martien from the Netherlands, I hope you can read my English.
My age is 60 years, and my hole life in HiFi/stereo. Always I am busy with things modify and tunning. But now it is OK and enough....?
The drive is to make the sound so musical, realistic and forget the equipment. About 12 years ago I have make my own monoblocks 300B, I have sold them 3 years ago, its to putty, the where real good, very tranparent and clean.
My system: DL-103r / Audiomeca J1 / ET2tonearm / ML39 CD /Matisse preAmp tubes / Tom Evans Lineair A, hybrid tubes / Goldmund Dialogue speakers.
Here I read the best Denon103, is the DL-103pro, so maybe I will try that
Only, I don't no where to buy this, the counts are from 400 til 600 $
Nice greetings, from Martien

Hi Martien,
Like most dutch people I've met your english is fantastic, my dutch is pretty much restricted to ordering beer and swearing...
Whereabouts in the Netherlands are you from ?
Hi,
I live in west of Netherlands, Zoeterwoude, a little place near at Leiden, between Den Haag and Amsterdam
Regards, Martien
Hi Martien, welcome to this informative and tolerant forum!
My Dutch goes beyond ordering beer and swearing but for the forum's sake I'll write in English.

...oh Amsterdam....mmmmm
Probably my favourite city in the world, but I've banned myself from working there, I'd never get to work...or survive for that matter.
Best just to have the occasional visit

Ah you've seen me there...last time I was over you were only allowed to smoke neat weed in a coffee shop, no tobacco allowed...insane!!! everyone I spotted in a cafe had a green complexion, and had lost the power of speech!!! A bit like Cov on a Saturday night!
Thankfully they've allowed tobacco again, due to popular pressure, something that wouldn't happen here, the dutch don't take shit lying down, unlike us spineless brits :)

Last time I was there was for my mates b'day party (Dec 2009), a friend has a bar on the Westerstraat (excuse the spelling I'm too lazy to look it up), at 6 every night they'd bring the ash trays out and you'd give them a couple of euros towards the fine for the use of an ash tray. So many bars have been doing this that they have now cut back on the ban...otherwise the entire amsterdam cafe/bar lifestyle (or deathstyle if you prefer) would disappear :(
