When I installed my Sonos ZP90 I was more concerned with ripping my collection so on day one I used the coaxial QED digital cable I had running from my CD player. Thiswas not being used as the Arcam CD73 sounded better via phonos. From memory the digital output must be poor from the CD73 as my PS3 sounds a lot better in stereo via HDMI to the Onkyo 875 than the CD73 using coaxial clearly not the DAC then.

Anyway yesterday I used a spare Kimber PBJ pair and plugged straight into the ZP90 and compared with the coaxial and I canny tell the difference so went with the Kimber PBJ's as I had another use for the coaxial. The DAC in the Onkyo is a Burr Brown PCM 1796A. Googeling and Binging I cant find the name/model of the Sonos one. Even if I did I would not know which is theoretically better so over to you guys.

I will likely add a dac in the future but find having it all at once one does not appreciate improvements as much and ones wallet does no appreciate one either:lol:
