Let me start by saying that I am not a hi-fi buff, well not yet anyway.
I am here because I am trying to find some information on a pair of speakers that belonged to my late father. Although they have 'LOCKWOOD' on the front there is nothing else on them, and the only other thing I know is that he bought them new in about 1957.
A google search revealed lots of history about Lockwoods but the only contactable people I could find were Roger from Lockwood Audio and a Scottish chap who has a pair of Majors and runs a forum.
To keep it brief, in discussion with Marco he said he was sure that forum members would be interested in seeing some pictures of them, so I will be posting these and a description in the 'Private Exhibitions' section.
For my own personal background, well since I don't have a system to tell you about at the moment, I'll tell you about my musical tastes and my avatar.
My musical tastes are really quite wide, with a preference for things recorded in the 70's that were played on electric guitars by people with very long hair and extremely questionable taste in clothes. Last 3 things on my recently played list; Lady GaGa, Smetana 'Ma Vlast' and Roger Waters 'Pros and Cons..'
My avatar is the great British comic actor Tony Hancock in the final scene of 'The Missing Page' where he announces "You've got to be just right with this stereophonic lark, there's 250 quids worth of the latest gramophone equipment here, all set up and waiting to blast me out of me chair.................all I need now is a record".
ATB for now
