Hi

I live in Wellington, New Zealand and am a self-confessed Lenco addict! If you are ever in my neck of the woods drop in! I also practice Yang style Tai Chi.

Music? Yes, please! I have very wide tastes and am always open to new sounds! I listen to at least 2 vinyl albums everyday.

I have a number of turntables, Candy (http://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=495.0) is my most well-known turntable. I am heavily into DIY and such things primarily because of a constrained (read non-existent) budget! In the last two years I have never had so much fun in thinking about, planning, and building all this stuff!

I have a 2 channel set up consisting of the following:

Sources
Candy (already noted above)
The Black Prince (http://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=1424.0) - a Garrard 401 in Slate

Heavily modded Denon 103R Cartridge
Origin Live Illustrious MK II tonearm

Amps
Trichord Research Dino Mk2 Phono with Dino + PSU High Performance Power Interconnect lead
Heavily modded Audio Note M3 Line level Pre-amp - custom upgrades to resistor and caps in the beast done by me!

Power Amps
Quad 405-2 Mark III (Net Audio upgrade - a recent upgrade)

Loudspeaker
World Design KLS3 Mk III - this is a recent upgrade from Mark 1 status.

Cables
Interconnects - Self built Piano 6/1 (http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/piano6_1_e.html) cables
Loudspeaker - TNT triple T Configuration 6 (http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/triple_t_2_e.html)

Current projects:

Jet (http://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=1023.0)- a Lenco in Slate. This will have a linear air bearing tonearm as well as the OL Illustrious.

Hi Jon, great introduction & welcome to AoS :) I'm a DIY fanatic as well as there is no way i could afford what i really want, also it must be good for the ol grey matter imo ;) Keeps you thinking & possibly out of the box..

I seem to remember WAD doing some decent speaker designs using nice drivers, good stuff :)

All the best & i'm jealous as all hell that you are where you are :D Beautiful place, both the north & south islands. Must be summer where you are...

All the best, enjoy your stay & get stuck in

Hey Jon.

That’s a lovely part of the world you live in.
I visited many years ago, mostly the North Island and almost moved out there to buy a house in Napier.
Best laid plans and all that….
Welcome to the forum :)
