View Full Version : Wanted Jelco counterweight

Hi, I need a standard counterweight for a LAD Jelco arm I believe it to be 750 based.

I bought a heavy counterweight for a 750L it fits perfectly but it is unduly heavy as it's for the 12" version.
:doh:

I am willing to do a swap for the heavy weight or buy the standard weight if anyone can help.

What cartridge/headshell are you going to use with your Jelco? Is the Jelco you've got a 9" arm the same as the 750? :)

Yes Marco, it's the 9" arm.
I use a sumiko hs-12 I think, with a technics 4gram head weight and a AT0c3 mc cart.
It will balance out but you have to mount the cw backwards IE with the dial at the back, and it don't look great.:rolleyes:

Lol - that's what I do with mine.... Thing is, you don't need a heavy c/w with the AT cartridge you're using, which I guess you know now! ;)

Anyway, I'll keep my eye out for you for anyone who has a stock Jelco c/w :)

Cheers Marco, I know I don't need the heavy weight with this cart.
The problem was, when I got the arm on a tt, there wasn't a counterweight so the heavy is the only one I could get, Hence I'm now trying to get the standard weight for this arm. :doh:

Did you buy the tonearm new, Darrell? If so, why wasn't there a stock c/w included with it? :scratch:

He sells Jelco and, I've been told, is essentially a direct link to the company. Tell him what you need. If he can't get it nobody can.

There is an underscore between audio and dragons in that email address.
