hi there all,we are redcorating the lounge,my new speakers will be going in here has anybody any suggestions about speakers being placed on a ceramic tiled floor,wondered about the sound ,im only used to speakers on carpeted floorin,thax for any reply,cheers maria:cool:

May sound a bit brighter due to reflections from the floor. If it's a problem, a rug may help. If your speakers are spiked, some one pence pieces under the spikes will protect the tiles.
hi ali,thanx for the reply,thats what i thoughtmight be to bright,we are not at this stage yet,hubby is still putting up the new ceiling and not intrested in my hi fi:(he says everything revolves round it,as you know it takes up a bit of space,along with my guitar and amplifier,cheers maria:cool:

I would stick with a carpet covering if you can, it will give the best results imho.

You need a carpet or at least a large rug between you and the speakers. You will also need damping, such as curtains to soak up the wall reflections. I have a ceramic floor and it sounds good.
thanx to neil and hi fi dave for the replys,i agree go for carpet,tile look much more state of the art,hubby will say carpet he dont like to be different from others,ali like your wife hubby moans,though when folk come in he says its his hi fi,in his dreams:rolleyes:cheers maria.
