Good day chaps, thought best place to start in this place was here.

Know a few of the users on here from VE (not banned yet, so not quite in search of an alternative joint to frequent). I was directed to this site after meeting up with Synsei recently (via E-Bay of all places) and thought, well why not?

Main interests lie in vinyl reproduction and have done for the past 36 years or so. Presently using a PT MkI/Nottingham Space arm/Blue Note Bobili and a bastardised Ariston RD110/774/OC9 with a Heed Orbit 2. Amplifiers Roksan Pre/Power and a Yamaha AS1000 and all termintaing in B&W 802's and MA RX6S's. Have half a Logic DM101 with a DC motor which should be whole again shortly.

Musical taste varies considerably, but mainly around early to post tribal punk and new wave as it was. Probably 'old wave' by now. Not to say I don't shun anything else as I have a lot of time for any music which come within the bracket of being good. Of course, that is within my concept of good!

Hope to enjoy being here and learn along the way.

Ah jolly good, someone in touch with the devil at last :)
Look Chris, I don’t spose there is any chance of putting in a word for me with your mate is there :eyebrows:
I’ve got a rather grubby soul to trade at the right price and despite some serious praying God doesn’t seem to be interested in trade; just wants me to confess and be good.
A bit late for that; I’m in a hurry

Hi Chris, welcome to AoS :) Nice to see others are suggesting making their way here even if it's just for a look about, i'm sure you'll find the place friendly & probably stick about ;)

It appears you are already known by Andre, not a bad thing as there's a possibility you'll know quite a few here by the sounds of it

All the best anyway, i hope you enjoy your stay

Thank you for the warm welcome chaps.

Sorry Andre the Castle Howard's went last year to make way for a pair of B&W 802 matrix which I bought for a steal. Unfortunately the cheap price soon went its merry way when I had to upgrade the amplifcation to drive the beasts. Am I happy I did? Of course! Dynamics on a whole new scale.

Synsei heard them this afternoon and I got the impression he rather enjoyed them.

Welder, I'll have a word with Uncle Lucifer and see how he can help. I'm sure a soul or two later and you have a deal.;)

Nice to see you got back in one piece and hopefully a Thoren's to match.

It is not everyone who gets a day in the dungeon. And an even more select few who get to experience the darker side during the latter hours. Especially the poor sod we mentioned who got stuck in there all night against their better wishes. Accident of course. Alcohol induced.

Welcome Chris. I like the 'sound' of your system. I have a particular passion for the old Logic DM101. That was one of the finest turntables I ever heard.

Maria,
I think the speakers that Andre is referring to are of a slightly more venerable age than yours.
