Hi All,
For those with a 750D do you use the damping oil and if so much do you use?

On balance, I prefer my SA-750D without damping oil, but this must be cartridge dependent. I lost the original Jelco damping fluid, so use Audio Origami's stuff - about 4 drops seems to be sufficient.

I've had my jelco arm for a while now and i've not opened the oil yet. What does it actually do to the sound?

I'd be curious in hearing exactly what the benefits are too.

I agree so It's a bit trial and error I guess. There is no doubt that with my Decca damping gives sonica improvements all round. I fill the dash pot 50% as per Jelco manual. The stuff is hellish expensive - I ended up buying some from TimeStep. It seems to be the same as the stuff used for high performance model racing car gear boxes which is widely available but i just didn't have the guts to deviate from the OEM stuff.
