Mark or anyone can you assist re the formats this player will playback?

I see it has a USB and eSATA port of the rear that you can attach portable drives too. I have looked at the manual and the Oppo website, but they don't commit to saying which files it will play. I want to rip my DVD's to hard drive and then store them to save space.

So the question is, has anyone played files ripped from a DVD (.vob file) to an external hard drive and then played them through this player?

Not sure if you can help Mark, as if you know the answer I will likely place an order.

I have a pdf file that lists the file types but is it too large to attach, email me and I will send it.

Not tried playing vobs yet, but as I understand it the vobs play but you wont get the menus. I must try that sometime.

most of the compressed video file formats play perfectly and for steaming flac the sound quality is excellent.
