Been a member for a while but not posted much. However I have never got round to putting up my details.. So current set up is 1210 with herbie's mat, the sponge feet save Crawley sells and an origin live ol1 arm. Cart is a dl110 as I bent my dynavector 10x5.... But this is about to change as I am in the process of buying an sp10 mkII. Phono stage is a dynavector p75mkII. I have a naim 202 pre but am just in process of buying a nac 32 and some Avondale 821 boards to experiment with. Power supply is a teddycap and power amp is an Avondale/naim 250 hybrid. This feeds (via mogami cable) a pair of spendor s9e's. Lastly for digital replay I have a Sonos set-up but prefer to do serious listening on vinyl.

I am currently 31, live in Cupar, fife (east Scotland) though a west coaster from Glasgow by birth.

how do you find the S9e's? I loved 'em when they came out, but my employer was planning to close the business and so we never stocked the SE series, sadly.

The Spendor S9e's are excellent - a former collegue of mine has recently got a pair, replacing his B&W DM2As.

Dishy think anyone would reply to my about me post so thank you all very much.

Neil- it was I who sold you the techie. How are you enjoying it? I had thought about selling on my current 1210 when my sp10 arrives however I think that with production ceasing it would be a good idea to hold onto it.

Ali- nice to know there are other fife dwellers who like their music. Sadly nine of my mates are hifi folk. If you fancy meeting up for beer/listen then let me know as always happy to spend time talking about this a consuming hobby of others.

The s9e's - well when I got my first system (naim xs and cd5x) the plan was for a pair of similar priced b&e speakers. Got a demo pair home and although very good just didn't quite do it for me. Something a little to clinical and didn't suit my living room. So had an afternoon at my dealer trying everything he had. I liked the then newly released a5 and a6 but wanted 3 way speakers - my view was that whilst my front end would probably be upgraded over time the speakers would be kept for a number of years. So I spied a pair of spendors tucked away at the back of my dealer's shop, asked to try them and though they would be a goer. Got them back to the house for a trial and had bought the very same pair (ex display discount and all) the next morning. I really like them - very musical and take some of the harshness out of a naim set up. I find they just yomp along and aren't too fusy about positioning. I know some people say they can be a bit pipe and slippers relaxes but I think this just their more musical and less analytical approach. Certainly don't get any fatigue listening to them.

Hi Mike

I am enjoying it very well thank you. It now has a Jelco 750D arm on it and an external PSU + the Isonoe feet, Herbies 1200 mat (also been playing with an Oyaide mat and weight as well), Bruil weight.

Thank you for having packed it so well and even offering to post it to me before you went on holiday + sorting out the missing bits too. You Sir are a Gentleman :)

Music tastes are quite varied. At the minute I am on a bit of a 70s and indy kick - fleetwood mac, Paul simon and modern bands who sound like the Arctic monkeys/early oasis.

All time favourites are the mighty mighty pixies, dj shadow, Bruce Springsteen, Bowie, the velvets and joy division. Also really enjoy just going into a record shop and buying vinyl just on the basis of a cover- means you listen to a random wide range of things with the occasional gem uncovered.

Good selection there! Prefer 70's rock/singer-songwriter stuff too,nothing new really grabs my interest,apart from the odd track I hear on Radio 2 but thats mainly by chance.
