I`m new here. I am from Lehrte nearby Hannover in Germany.
You have very good discussions so I think I`m right here.

I´m 44 years old an started with turntables as a child . there were no digital sources. then went over to hardrock at 14, turned over to metal and added jazz records last year.

I prefer turntables and we have analogue meetings here in Hannover one time in a month. there a are only turntable crazies:cool:.

but I don`t like image hifi anymore and turned my back to it in 2009.

I now hear with vintage hifi:
Garrard 301 and 401
Schick-tonearm with Shure M3D, Nagaoka nm11a -The "Klotz" we call him here.

Micro BL-51 with audiocraft AC-300

300b and Siemens F2A poweramps- cheap ones from Austria but handmade, an australian 12au7 preamp, Diatone Fullrange from the sixties.

It sounds not like "highend" but I like this vintage sound. this is what I learned last year. it is not a question of how much money you invest, and no question of "this cartridge sounds better than the other". The point is to sit for hours in your seat an listenend to music and relax..and only I have to like my hifi and nobody else. like a journey to myself.

But I know from reading this forum there are a lot of vintage hifi fans outside there.

Welcome to AoS Knut. That is a very interesting system you have there, I'd really like to see some pics when you have time to post them. ;)

As you can see from my signature, I'm keen on some of the older hifi kit too as are many members on here. I hope you enjoy your stay and I look forward to reading your posts.

As you say, there are loads of people on here using older equipment, i'd hate to call it vintage if it's still in regular use :eyebrows:

I know your part of Germany quite well, having served with the British Army in Hameln, Nienburg, Minden and just three years ago, Lübbecke (in Westfalen)

Lovely country.

I bought my Quart speakers in a HiFi shop next to Karstadt in Minden over 20 years ago. Fine speakers.
