Trying to put together a sound reproducing system in order to bring out the best timbral balance from analogue long playing records with classical music, I am glad to register on this forum.

Furthermore I am very glad to read about the friendly atmosphere.

We tend to go on real first names here as it makes for a much friendlier place :cool:

I can't help much with the vinyl side of things, i'm more of a digital person listening wise. I'm sure you'll find plenty of valuable information on here though to aid in you audio nirvana quest ;)

Where abouts in Norway are you from apart from somewhere colder than here :lol:

One of my favourite artists comes from Tromso - Gier Jenssen, but you probably don't know of him as it wouldn't be your usual kind of music ;)

Hi Andreas, it is a reference to The Eurovision Song Contest.

Back in the old days, the good people of Great Briton knew little about the rest of the world. The little they did know about foreigners was mainly used to poke fun at them. Johnny English, who had a scant grasp of his own language, happily looked down on the local Asian shopkeeper, who spoke three languages, because he spoke English with a slight accent!

So the Eurovision Song Contest was great, as it gave Johnny the opportunity to laugh at everyone else in Europe at the same time! He was well versed in French, German and Italian jokes but countries like Norway were more of a problem. Basically, most people in Britain would've struggled to tell you where Norway was let alone know anything about the place. So just about the only time they heard any mention of Norway was when they heard the hapless Eurovision hostess say 'Hello Norway, can we have your scores please?'.

Thus, these little known European countries because synonymous with the worst example of musical entertainment in the history of man! :0) In Britain at least.
