Just looked up a telephone number for TV licensing as there website is very un-helpfull with no contact telephone number found in their "contact us" section, so i went back into google and found this site, they came up first when you type in "TV licensing contact telephone number", in big letters the number you want is this (http://customerhelpline.info/tvlicensing/listing141295.html?gclid=CPikq46qgqYCFY4f4QodHDp_p Q) i read quickly that it was going to cost me a £1.50, a bit steep i thought but if it got the problem sorted, so i dialled it, what i got was a message telling me at 100 miles an hour that the number you require is so and so then it hangs up,did even get chance to write it down.
What has annoyed the shit out of me is that i have just been had by a third party telephone info line that comes up as a first search and these arseholes are doing it all the time.
Note to ones self read the small print fully and not just the top line and try to slow down a bit

If i was you i'd use that contact us form on the website, it's how i got through to the thick idiots in the end :eyebrows:

About time people realise you don't need to be buying a TV licence..I mean you lot telling me theirs actually enough on TV to warrant spending that much on a Licence?

What pisses me off is the assumption that everyone has a TV and you are put in the position of proving you haven’t. The silly bastard they sent round to “inspect” my home was foolish enough to jam his foot in the door and try to barge his way in.

To be honest I was surprised that Jonboy dialled the number - 09 numbers have carried a premium for some time now (must be 10 years or thereabouts), ever since all the mobile networks were all shifted onto 07.
All government departments either use a standard telephone code (eg 0161/ 01244 etc.) or more commonly a local rate non geographic code (0845/ 0333 etc.).
Unfortunately the website with the 09 number is operating legally.
You could try complaining to ofcom, or your local MP - the result will likely be the same (nothing happens).
Just be thankful that the site wasn't charging £15.00 a minute.

Spot on Mark, the TV licence thing was another issue alltogether, my name on a demand for a council owned yard that has recently been fitted with CCTV, apparently if you have CCTV fitted and a computer is involved you need a licence because you are able to access tv from that computer, the only thing i can think of is that the Licencing people must have seen one of my trucks going in and out of the yard and now are trying to get me to cough up thinking its my CCTV the cheeky bastards, i wish they would get their facts straight and i bet this won't be the end of it either

If the computer is only used with the CCTV then the above statement is incorrect ;) The TV license is only needed IF you can receive TV broadcasts as they are being transmitted or you have equipment connected that can record live TV broadcasts.
You don't need a license for a computer or TV or DVD recorder if you own them as long as they are incapable of doing what they are meant to do. IE if there is no aerial connected :eyebrows: Just because i'm connected to the internet doesn't mean i watch live TV broadcasts over the web, i don't so i don't need a license fullstop...
I might have 5 TV sets here, but not a single one is connected to a TV aerial, the same with the 3 DVD recorders :lol:

i've been using a pc for a few years now,had no licence for just as long, every couple of years they ask to update details,i tell them i don't need a license,they say they need to send someone round to check,no one has ever turned up.
Rip off number two for the day, i went into Brighton to do a bit of Christmas shopping this evening and parked in a NCP car park, returned two and a half hours later and paid at the pay station,
£16 fucking quid, really pissed off now
I'm off to the Kemp town (Queers Ville) area off of Brighton to get well and truly fucked again and make it a hat trick, at least i might be able to regain my losses

You don't need a car driving license to own a car, you don't need a fishing license to own tackle - you only need the license to actual drive on public roads & fish in rivers etc.
As long as a TV or Video/DVD recorder isn't being used to watch or record live broadcasts then you don't need a license.
As for a license to listen to a radio that went out with the dinosaurs :lol:

Nope, that is incorrect. If you have such equipment but it is not connected for receiving broadcasts then you do not need to pay for a licence. It's all there in the small print, but they want you to believe what you have claimed to scare people into paying.
Me: I watch selected TV so I pay for a licence. There are more important things to get hot under the collar about.
Just got back from Ipswich a 270 odd round trip because my wifes cousin wanted to come down for our annual new years piss up party and see the rest of the family, normally she and her partner and 3 year old catch the train a return fair of £48 each which is enough money anyway, but today that price had risen to £220 each one way :eek:, what the fuck is going on with this country and its transport network, thier supposed to be encouraging us to use them :steam:
one concesion is their three year old goes free any time, like that makes a difference
Edit, I got it slightly wrong it was £170 single and £220 return at the time, just checked again and they have dropped to £47.80 for an evening train, made there money now i suppose

What's happened as far as i know is the railway companies are forced to keep the mainly used routes at only a certain bit above inflation increase, but lesser used routes they can charge what the hell they like :wanker:

if it's a direct route i.e. one train no stops then yer buggered, however if you have to change trains then it's best to get each leg of the trip individually, it can save you loads, i did what i just mentioned for a trip to east midlands airport from durham, the trip if i booked as 1 journey was about £80, but i got the trip by booking each leg individually for a shade over £40.
Apparently the price difference is due to peak times, so if you leave through peak time or part of the trip is at peak time, then on the all on one ticket, the trip is charged at peak rates, however by buying each individual leg seperately you only pay a peak fair on that particular leg of the trip.
Still a fcuking rip off though!!
