Looks like i might be doing a bit more listening with cans in the future due to neighbours so im looking for a headphone kit that is a bit better than the output socket on my amp. As budget as possible.
Any suggestions please. My headphones are Grado 125i

The Grado amp enclosed in the wood case is just based around a simple cheap op-amp circuit, if it works with your 125I you could try one of those cmoy amps for peanuts

Mini 3 (http://www.amb.org/audio/mini3/) is supposed to be very good.

I really must finish building mine. :)

My god what a joke. Guess youre paying for the wooden box.
Looks like theyre upgrading it with Jensen caps.

On the web i found Graham Slee does a novo kit for £100. I could just stretch to that.

I use one of these for iPod/Clip. They sound pretty good to me

Very robust build quality too.

Looks like e quality cmoy. The Rock Grotto people seem to rate it to.

The Nico CMOY goes well with Grados, too (well the igrado and SR60s I have at any rate.)

It was your comments on it that made me decide to get one Alex. I still think it sounds pretty damn good for what it is.:)

Hi guys, could I ask if these suggestions would also suit my K702's? I believe they are a 62ohm impedance compared with the 32of the Grados?

Cheers

I should add for the OP that I was considering this CMOY build:

http://tangentsoft.net/audio/cmoy-tutorial/

From the tutorial it seemed pretty straight forward, but then I'm just getting into soldering, but thought that this wouldn't be too much to risk if I make a meal out of it. ;)

That sure looks sweet and great photo with the K702s...I'm looking for a battery op, and as cheap as really for carting around, when I'm on train etc.... at home I'll just keep plugged into my Amp, maybe the Caiman I'd like to get.
