You know everytime i ask for something may it be an hifi aticle or something specific i don't need people come with the 'o this will do' & 'o you don't want that hifi item it's shyte' type of crap! you know i ask for something i want it no other way, i don't care about what others think! cos these days thats what it's about ''anything will do''.. i have an hard time living in this cheap arse modern world of anything will do as it is.

rant over

Not a good Idea Chris..Had to be said tho

Fist i asked for a specific Potentiometer with SOLDER TAGS all i get is the PCB pin version will do (PCB pins are to be soldered to a PCB, Tags are to solder ie:wires to)

Then i'm wanting a Q34 pre amp only to get told a modded 33 or 44 would be better! &?

Now i'm wanting a precision cut aluminium box section, suprise suprise: get some from a scrappy & cut it yourself!

No No & No

Who yanked your chain, Andr'e? I guess it's fairly normal for people to contribute their opinions as well as a response to your query and I normally just filter it out as unwanted.

I only challenge robustly when I am 'told' that surround sound is better than stereo, or 3D TV is better than HD, or an iPad is better than a netbook, because I can argue coherently using facts. But then, there are a million things I don't know about and usually keep my mouth shut over.

Andre, I'm fairly new on here but everything I read from you tells me that you have a problem. Correction. Lots of problems. I suggest you go to see your GP who will be able to give some initial advice.

Ha, andre knows his issues ... It's what makes andre andre... Without his moaning about stuff this forum just would not be the same ... I for one know his frustrations, have a bloody good idea of exactly how he feels, I respect his right to articulate the feeling in thier fullness!
Andre I hope you get it all sorted buddy!!

Same here. I think it's great that Andr'e knows what he wants and won't settle for anything less. I only wish I had the same drive for perfection.

To be blunt Andre, I would say 'what exactly did you expect'? With regard to the box section, you ask a very specific question on a forum that is largely non specialised. If I wanted such an item I would type 'extruded aluminium box section' into Google and be prepared to make some phone calls. Most machine shops should be able to 'precision' cut (or grind) it to length.

If you want something very specific (as I often do), don't be surprised if it doesn't just present itself to you after 5 minutes of research!

http://www.mcmmetals.com/products.asp - they also cut, de-bur and anodise. You would have to phone them to see if they have the section size you want (I see they definately have 2" and 3" - this took 30 seconds to find!).

Thanks Chaps & thanks for the links..I don't moan on purpose i'm just a subbon determined individual that tries to do things as perfect as possible, about time more people were like that these days.

Harry: Nice to see you seem to think i have problems that warrant a GP! can you explain to me without boring me to death how you came to that conclusion?

+1!!

Why the f*ck should anyone settle for less than what they have specifically asked for???

BullSHITE to that, I say - so I'm with Andre all the way!

It would be akin to being out for a meal and ordering a bottle of Chablis, only for the waiter to bring some Jacob's Creek instead, under the premise that 'it would do', as both were Chardonnays!!

We must rid the world of such ignorance and muppetry!!!

i dont understand this perspective ... how can a person view something externally to them selves or their way of thinking as more normal than thier own way of thinking ...
everything that goes on in my head is completely normal to me... how could i be anything other than normal (well unless im on acid or somthing :) ) ... ya get me?
on the other hand of course i would concider you to be abnormal because you obviously dont think in the same way as i do ... so yeah i would agree with you that you are abnormal ... but if you think your abnormal to your self then id go to the doctor and get on the waiting list to see your local nhs psychiatrist ...

what i suspect you mean when you say "normal" is actually "average" .... average is different to normal ... although id would say im actually fairly average too

I think i'm totally normal tbh..It's the couldnt careless attitude to things in life with people i can't get to grips with.

Just a quick example of what i mean: Say your decorating the house, one person paints the woodwork, the finished job is full of brush marks. I would & have used a spray gun for a totally perfect finish especially the radiators! Who's the nutter me or the guy that just slaps it on & couldnt careless as long as it's painted? The same attitude carries on with most anything with people.

Some of us consider whips and chains to be normal.

Its only perverted if you dont do it.:eyebrows:

funnily enough the other hamish i know from worcester is fairly similar to me ... he met his girlfreind within a few weeks of me meeting mine and they are are both called Hannah and are both artistic people... he is about my age, he drinks in the same pub as me and has a bit of a beer get like me ... he is also the same height as me ... and also by strange coincidence used to live opposite to the guy who is now my lodger

oddly i find the people who claim they are wierd or abnormal tend to be the people who are most average

like women who collect stuffed owls or whatever they say things like "im crazy me, i collect stuffed owls" ... yeah mate thats fucking nuts ... my misses got taken off in an ambulance once after being found lying in the middle of the road then had to escape the hospital and walk home to aviod being taken to the psyc ward.... but yeah, i can see how your collection of stuffed owls is a bit crazy too ... ... ...
and of course hannah will tell you she has her issues but would actually prefer not to be known as a bit nuts as being "normal" is actually a daily struggle .... as it used to be for me ... but i fixed my self :)
