You can of course build something around LM1084 but I can assure you its not a patch on the Paul Hynes PR3G3HD-21 module , I've tried a few various regged psu's to see if any come close and they all failed :lol:

To diy the psu using the stuff seen in the thread I started would be about £180 (could be much more, depending on transformer ) what you get is a regged psu which will be very hard to beat for the price. The hardest bit is the case work, the PR3GHD-21 module comes ready built and tested, it just needs a transformer, wiring up and casing.
