Picked this up for 90 quid as my casual music server amp (with squeezebox touch, pair of diamond 9.1s and a terabyte of FLAC @ 44.1/16 and 24/96). Lovely sounding amp but showing its age with a horribly intermittent source switch on all inputs.
Given Dunn's philosophy on signal path, I'm surprised that a nasty rotary selector is in there in the first place. Glenn Croft stuck with the, far more reliable and transparent, SPST switches and, given the vintage, mercury wetted relays were the sensible choice (since outlawed by the H&S Nazis of course) and they are what I use for my serious system source selection.
Being an NVA product, access to the internals is tricky to say the least. Anyone got access to Richard to find out how to fix this?
An idea is to go in through the tape out interface. It's a nasty DIN connector, which doesn't inspire confidence, but might be the best option.
