It all started here...in Stoke...

My quest to find the perfect oatcake recipe...
It started with my father's setup...full on reel to reel, vintage Marantz Esotec and big Wharfedales.
The current setup is fairly good, especially transient response, clarity and overall boogie factor.
Two of the most interesting finds for me have been the YAL YFD-18 Dac and the Shindo Model 77 preamp. The YAL (Yamashita Audio Laboratory) is a very good dac from one of the best design teams in Japan. they specialise solely in digital modifications and dacs. It outplayed the Accuphase DP700 which is one of the sota players of the moment.
More later...going to my chinese lesson.
