Time to part with my wonderful Leben preamp...it has served me well and is one of the finest preamps I have heard in my system.
The preamp was number 15 manufactured and comes with the hens teeth rare wooden casing. I bought it in late 2007 and it is pretty much in perfect condition. It has been my personal preamp ever since.
The MM phono stage is excellent and worthy of a high price on it's own. You could run a decent MM cart into this and put many other systems to shame.
New price is around £5000....so this is a bit less than half price. I don't think that the European models came with wooden casing, this model is from Japan and 100V.
I attached a recent photo and a few old ones.
The preamp is very flexible and offers a huge voltage swing to drive longer cables OR low sensitivity power amps. It has either fixed output or variable output.
You can read the blah blah here:

Thank you for the compliments!
It has served me well and I would love to see it go to a good home.

Hi Ritchie,
As an aside, how do you rate the Mac 275s? Can you describe their sound roughly? They're probably the only Mac amps I'd think very seriously of buying if I didn't own this baby:

Morning Marco,
:stalks::stalks::stalks:
Wow that looks like it has stepped out of Doctor Who's Love Tardis! A beautiful creation - is that your own work? Please tell me more.
The MC275's are good amps. My friend measured them and they are very linear and controlled in the lower frequencies. Overall a good amp that should really age well.

Here is some more info. My model is actually called the RS-28CX Custom - due to the full wood casing I imagine.

It has received 5star accolades and reports from 6moons (as stated) and also Revue de Son in France and High Fidelity in Poland (product of the year).

My creation?? As if a stuoopit big daftee like me could make something like that! :eyebrows:
Lol - no it's a masterpiece of thermionic music-making by Mr Anthony Matthews of Tube Distinctions, see here:

The difference with mine, after a bit of recent fettling, is that it now kicks out 40W of pure Class A, as opposed to the 30W of the standard model, due to the fitting of a much bigger mains transformer from Sowter.
The output transformers were hand-wound by an ex-GEC employee. NOS caps from Plessey also form part of the totally hard-wired circuit. There are no awful PCBs in sight!
My copper amp also uses NOS GEC KT88s as output valves, and those sound absolutely stunning, along with the NOS Russian 6H8C driver valves and Mullard GZ34 rectifiers, as indeed does the whole amplifier in general.
I doubt that I will ever part with it, as bespoke, hand-built (from scratch) amplifiers of this quality don't exactly grow on trees! :)

I would at some point like to hear some vintage 275s, along with their matching preamp :)
Anyway, my apologies for the thread drift - at least your ad has received a free bump!
Marco.

Sorry for the delay in response Marco. I just got back from Lisbon.
The amplifier sounds like a work of art...king of the art of sound!
I have a tentative trade offer on the Leben but prefer a straight cash deal.
Hi, is this still available? can you send me a PM with your email address if so.
