Wanted Quad 33

Looking for another Quad '33' pre amp the back pannel must be mint & flaps not broken..preferably a later model with gold pin motherboard inserts.. Absolutly no mods please.

Got one here but you'd have to buy the 303 that goes with it :eyebrows:

Zero mods, done possibly 100Hrs of use since it's last service (by Quad) which was in 1983 :lol: I know when it was as i transported the things there on my motorcycle :doh:

Definately have the original 303 box & probably the 33 box as well. Power cable is also here...

Not sure about the gold plated connectors but no flaps on the back of the pre amp are broken & all the boards are there ;) Din sockets, damn things :rolleyes:

Don't really need another '303'..but is it a very late charcoal grey version?

Well it's grey for sure, not sure if there are darker ones out there so unfortunately i'd find answering that a tad difficult :scratch: Sorry Andr'e..

It's not like i have seen shed loads to notice a difference :eyebrows:

Colour differences, ignore the IEC mains inlet brown ones had them at one point

:lolsign: Not a huge difference is there, i'll take a look tomorrow ;) If i remember right it's more grey than brown though but i could be wrong.

Will a serial number help?

The colour i'm after is pretty much the same as the Quad II, '520' grey, doesnt matter what shade the '33' is

I have an "export" 303 I understand in a sort of greyish green casing. Hifi dave sold hundreds of these to a chain of record shops and when Quad were winding production down, he tells me that all the last ones he obtained were in this colour.

Dada Electronics have case parts, controls and flaps for the 33 and I bet that if a specific request was made for minty bits, they'd oblige. Sorry Andre, mods or not and lack of finances or not, I cannot sell mine as I love it too much....

No worries Dave. I have loads of Quad stuff i'm in the middle of restoring to new cond ( i have to have stuff mint or i can't sleep).I just need a few more items the same..Just bagged a '405/2' & '306' for £120.00 each.

My 303 has a very slightly bent heatsink fin and I dare not attempt to straighten it. I used to be fussy beyond endurance, but these days I have to go with the flow, or die fighting it and to be honest, with humanity being what it is, I just have to go with it for a quieter life...
