I had a pair of these once - bought them in 79/80? Wonderful things, fine midband.

Can't remember how much they cost. But I was young and single.

I have a pair in the shed  When i had room to work out there i used a Philips CD player that played video as well as games & a (decent quality) Realistic amplifier & i'll be damned if you couldn't hear 25Hz :eyebrows: The shed is 16ft long ;)

Yes i agree, having heard them & other peoples speakers of the same make & type these are a bargain :) Reconed Kef B200s if i recall correctly but nice light damped paper cones rather than flabby bextrene :ner:

Someone wants to snap them up, great bass. It's their own superb 'DSB208' 8" unit..Anyone got a pair os MS 'Signifer' for £20 :lolsign:

I've owned all the MS in this range at some point..

Can i just ask if their are any marks on the metal trim at the bottom fronts & also same for the plaque on the rear?

I've got the rear plates they came unstuck and the front's are tidy too.

Very tempted!

I have fond memory of all the Morduant Short range in the Eighties.

How much do you reckon the shipping would be?

I would Matthew the Pageant, Carnival & Festival were all great, the Signifer were beauties.. all caried the same unit..I would have had these Pageants but i've just about cleared out all my vintage gear out, i'm done with it all.

They're better than Missions Andr'e. I used them with mid turned down and the treble turned up - lovely, and I echo the good vibes on the Festival, Carnival and Signifers

Are these still available. If so, how much is delivery to South Wales?

If you arrange a courier yourself then I can send them.
They sold on ebay a few weeks ago but didn't get posted, I refunded the guy, as the post office said the parcel was too heavy for them to take.
I weighs around 45 pounds.
The winner won them for £1.20, so I wasn't dicking around with couriers for him.
They are sat here boxed and ready to go.

Yes Pageant 2's. and they do sound excellent.
It's taken Monitor audio studio 12's to oust them, and they were £1000.

I must admit i'm very happy with the MS45ti's i've got in the lounge, i got em of eBay for next to nowt and they're in perfect condition, Mordaunt Short have made some excellet speakers over the years, and to be honnest it would take something very special and probably out of my budget to oust them.

Enjoy your new speakers Andre.

Hi Mike
I don't have time for any other MS's apart from the 70's models with the 'DSB208' drivers.

Carnival, Pageant, Festival & Signifer ;)

Look out for some SIGNIFERs. Quite rare, but I'd love to hear some now on modern gear :)

Your not the only one Dave, i bought a pair years ago from a used gear shop in the city.i remember cutting him down from £150.00 to £95.00..cheeky i know but not bad eh considering what the Signifers cost new.Never ever seen a pair since, doubt i'd get a pair for that now.I wasnt actually in the shop looking for hifi, i was buying a bargin Mini Moog Synth when i spotted em.They were actually one of the best sounding speakers i've had.The 'Pageant' are very good though, i wasnt going buy them from Darrell at first but thought they might be great with the Ferrograph amp! I think i was using an Armstrong '521' last time i owned them ..

What I like about them (Pageants) is they sounded like the BBC speakers (LS3/5a, I think) that went with the BBC amps I'm trying to build. Only difference , I believe, is they are 10 times more sensitive as I remember. I think it was HiFi News that did a survey of the Best 30 Loudspeakers in the late 70s and the Pageants came joint Third in performance but best value for money. They were quoted at list price of £289 at the time. I love them.:)
