I bought this amp on eBay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380285797610&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
It sold for £255 on auction.

It worked fine to start with, but got quite warm. After 30 minutes or so a 'pop' sound came out of the speakers and now all that comes out is a low level hum. When it died it had gotten quite hot.

I got an immediate refund from the seller, so no problem there, and he said I needn't bother returning a dead amp. (Nice that he trusted me!). Actually, I think it was a she. Whatever.

So .... I have a non-working amp, of rather fine pedigree.

Anyone want to make me an offer and take it on as a project?
Highest offer above £15 + postage will be accepted.

All funds, less postage (£8 with DHL), will go to the CANCER RESEARCH UK charity, where I do volunteer work. :^ :)

I do like a challenge! I'll start the ball rolling with £17.00 plus postage (there are a lot of output transistors to posssibly have to replace).

Thanks for that, Frank. But oops! - I was about to post that the amp is heading to another forum member ... coincidentally for £17 plus P&P! :)
