The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize.
If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £315 for the phone call.
If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 020 7239 6655.

i have only just recieved it, oh well just passing on, lots of scams this time of year
A few weeks ago, my company sent me (forward) a warning email which was received from the police department.Content of email alerts us not to answer on phone calls or to missed calls which started like +39...+390...+391...+392...otherwise somehow you can not hang up.I don't have to mention that the phone bill will be enormous :stalks:.The only way to hang up is to remove the battery from your mobile.

There is a newer scam from Nigeria costing far more.
Dialing any of these area codes will cost $2,425 per min.U.S.dollers
Worse, they bait you to call in several ways,almost always by phone and your phone company is leagaly obligated to collect!

Why don't they just ban,pay per min.calls added to your phone bill.
Seems the only smart thing to do.
U.S. and the U.K. phone companys should just refuse to assist these crooks with collections to start out with,Banks,should also refuse to transfer money to these countrys,they would have to clean up there act then.

True.
there is a scam a minute out there, most people see through um, but they try it on with so many people, that there are always going to be people that get caught out, there should be laws against them being able to add a charge to your phone bill though.

Over the last couple of weeks I have become the victim of a clever scam
while out shopping.
Simply going out to get some shopping turned out to be quite traumatic.
Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you!
Here's how the scam works.....
Two seriously good looking twenty-something year old girls
come over to your car as you are loading your shopping into the boot.
They both start wiping your windscreen with a rag and windowlene, with
their cleavage almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts.
It is impossible not to have a good look. When you thank them and offer
them a tip, they say "No" and instead ask you for a lift to another
shopping centre
You agree and they get in the back seat.
On the way, they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs
over into the front seat and performs oral on you, while you are otherwise engaged, the other one steals your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen on November the 4th, 9th and 11th, twice on the
14th and 16th, three times on the 18th and twice just yesterday,
It will very likely again this coming weekend as soon as I can buy some more
wallets.
This is the best one.

It is not company.Or it is, at lest on paper.
They (he,she...who knows) are cheaters.Offer goods that they do not have,prices are so attractive,payment in advance,and then...you can assume.Last night was a discussion about that sites at the Croatian forum.Is it a scam?
Ah, I see - they are just rip off merchants, I get it now.
Here's another one sent to me today, how true it is i don't know but thought i would pass it on
1. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT
I bought a bunch of stuff, over £150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of £40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the £40 because she couldn't delete it. I told Her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it.. I said NO! Taking the £40 would be a cash advance against my Credit card & I wasn't paying interest on a cash advance!!!!! If they couldn't delete it then they would have to delete the whole order. So the supervisor had the cashier delete the whole order & re-scan everything! The second time I looked at the electronic pad before I signed & a cash-back of £20 popped up. At that point I told the cashier & she deleted it. The total came out right. The cashier agreed that the Electronic Pad must be defective.
Obviously the cashier knew the electronic pad was defective because she NEVER offered me the £40 at the beginning. Can you imagine how many people went through before me & at the end of her shift how much money she pocketed?
Just to alert everyone. My co worker went to Milford , Sainsburys last week. She had her items rung up by the cashier. The cashier hurried her along and didn't give her a receipt. She asked the cashier for a receipt and the cashier was annoyed and gave it to her. My co worker didn't look at her receipt until later that night. The receipt showed that she asked for £20 cash back. SHE DID NOT ASK FOR CASH BACK!
My co-worker called Sainsburys who investigated but could not see the cashier pocket the money. She then called her niece who works for the bank and her niece told her this. This is a new scam going on. The cashier will key in that you asked for cash back and then hand it to her friend who is the next person in the queue.
Please, please, please check your receipts right away when using credit or debit cards!
This is NOT limited to Sainsburys; they are one of the largest retailers so they have the most incidents.
I am adding to this. My husband and I were in Sainsburys and paying with credit card when my husband went to sign the credit card signer he just happen to notice there was a £20 cash back added. He told the cashier that he did not ask nor want cash back and she said this machine has been messing up and she canceled it. We really didn't think anything of it until we read this email.
I wonder how many "seniors" have been, or will be, "stung" by this one????
To make matters worse ...THIS SCAM CAN BE DONE ANYWHERE, AT ANY RETAIL OR WHOLESALE LOCATION!!!
BEFORE LEAVING THE CHECK-OUT........CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!!!
THIS COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THE STAND. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE DO JUST THAT. NOW I'LL START!

You'll not catch me with a credit card paying for things.Cash or nowt.I know they don't like it but tough.
Nor me, but I pay with a Debit card (I don't usually carry much cash on me) and I will keep an eye on cashback requests on my receipts.
