My name is Judd and I am 34 and live in Connecticut. This forum has been a benefit in helping me to choose audio, so I thank you. My music producing machine consists of

-Technics 1210 m5g/KAB fluid damper/mike new bearing/at ml440a
-lehmann black cube se phone pre
-goldring sw 4 input selector
- audial aya 2 dac
-modded parasound 1100 dac
-sst trinaural processor
-velodyne sc 1250 sub amp
-pioneer vsx 912 receiver
-revox b215
-tandberg 440a
-morrow audio ic's/cheapo speaker wire
-gedlee nathans
-one danley sh 95 speaker
-4 audiokinesis swarm ported subs
-biguglyhot and sometimes loud isolation transformer

Music that comes through the machine consists of 70's reggae, king crimson, elp older not new prog, not really a jazz or classical fan, 60's- mid 70's grateful dead, zappa, morrisey/smiths, early sabbath, drone/stoner rock, big bowie fan, like some ambient/idm, beefheart, beck, gong,mew

I have been interested in audio since my teen's. I am happy with my speakers and amp but having been looking into added a tube amp for my 3rd/center channel or possibly custom 3 channel tube amp. Have only heard a few tube amps so don't know too much about different tubes. As well as making my technics 1210 all it can be (thinking trans fi and cartridge yet to be named see 33ptg 2 thread) and possible some sort of tvc passive transformer thingie.

Got some new/old tape decks and feel like I have found my happy medium between vinyl and cd. Very good sound and less physical exertion :)

I am reticent poster but will do my best to chime in at times.

Quite a bit of kit you happen to have there & some interesting stuff to :scratch: Trinaural processor? Does this synthesize a centre channel, it certainly sounds like it should ;)

Interesting! Reminds me of Eno's experiments with '3 channel stereo' where the difference between the left and right channels was fed into a third speaker designed to go behind... He did an album mixed for it IIRC...

Yeah the trinaural is pretty cool. I have not heard any other multi channel processors so I can't make any comparisons. Good to know of other folks with similar music tastes. On a major side note I have fallen in love with the cassette medium. I have a now defunct gx 912 (anyone know where to get this fixed) and now with my new revox b215, cassettes recorded from my turntable has been the sound I have been searching for. I don't really know what it is about the sound but I feel completely engaged by the music much more so than with my vinyl or dac. Anybody have a similar experience or maybe some insight as to what it is about cassette's (I am not using any noise reduction or mpx)?

I will try and get a pic up of that Tandberg it is somewhat big but not big like the nak 1000 I have been trying to get somebody to look it over to make sure everything is ok but it has been a slow going.
