It is indeed Mike, one of many; the penalty of years as an engineer, a reasonably comprehensive selection of tools and an often erroneous belief that I can “do it better” :doh:
I’ve had bikes most of my life. I used to be a great “Brit Iron” fan but one day many years ago I got shown the light after getting left a tweaked Honda CBR 600 to “look after” for a couple of weeks :eek:
When I finally ran out of clean underpants I had to finally acknowledge lovely though Brit Irons are when it comes to performance in every aspect they were at least when my conversion happened far superior to Brit Irons. It’s remarkably like the vinyl v file audio debate that goes on here :ner:
I won’t be riding this but I hope my eldest daughter will instead of that ghastly scooter.

Think i'll leave it until next year now :lol:

I'd love to do some work & get my old FZR running & fit for the road again, frankly it needs more work than i'm prepared to do on it :doh:

Nice, John. Had an old BSA C15 20 years ago, but it was more work than I could handle, so eventually I gave up and donated it to a local Motorcycle museum. My current stead I've had from new in 1998, but been banned from riding the last 3 years since Avatar was on the horizon - I do miss it, but then knowing how I ride, I can't say it's the wrong decision!

My "silver dream machine" is well old fashioned now, but is in immaculate condition and has only done 12,000 miles in 12 years... (Kawasaki ZX6-R F3 Ninja - picture nicked off the web but virtually identical apart from mine has a hugger and a very obscene A.R.T. can...)

The fastest (on the clock, so a bit optimistic) I've ever been was 160mph, and that was only because a copper was getting annoyed with me for going so slow (really!) - a long story, but happy memories! Sadly, I lost my best mate, uncle, a cousin and another biker buddy due to those sort of shenanigans, so to be honest, it's better to just have it under a cover in the garage and get the Autosol out every so often!

The parents to a friend of mine had a bad accident in northern germany 5 years back. They went there on summer vacation and was nicked by a car.
His dad broke an arm and a shoulder; mom went to the hospital for months; first in Germany until she could be moved to Århus and then later to Viborg. She were allowed stay home a couple of days for christmas before being moved back to Viborg. She is now on disability.
I am not sure that any remains of the Norton made it back.

I have a rather tuned up FZR1000 siting in the garage but it needs work as it hasn't had the engine turned over in 11 years :doh:

LEDAR (Lincolnshire Engines Development And Racing - Leon Moss?) 4 into 2 into 1 full race exhaust as well as high lift & longer duration camshafts...

Loads of weight reduced due to Mr Hacksaw (loved that when i saw someone else post it :eyebrows:)

It's no wonder the thing got me banned from driving & unfortunately a holiday courtsey of her majesty :eek: I guess i deserved it :)

0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds kind of does that to you :doh: 140 mph+ in less than 10 seconds doesn't help ;)

E2A:- I was looking at a turbocharged GSXR1000 earlier in the year, 280 BHP at the rear wheel, rather than about 150 :doh: It can't be helped :mental:

One Triumph guy to another,I see the paint pan catching the oil under it.
It is just like new!
I had a 1979 Bonni and after rebuileding it compleatly,and restoring it she began to leak,in a couple of places.
The 70 year old Triumph Guru looked at it and said."It's not a rice burner it's a Triumph,get used to it!"

My last bike was rather nicely tweaked Honda CBR 600 which I sold last summer.
I’ve still got a bit of a thing about old Brit Irons despite the fact that I would be reluctant to ride them in this country now.
Favorite has to be the Norton Commando Fastback 750.
My intention after selling the CBR was to hunt for a decent duke 996 Foggy replica but so far those I’ve looked at that seem like they may not have had one too many track days are a bit more than I can afford.
Anyone here do Blackbush or Santa Pod ?
