Help !
Can anyone suggest how to disable the caps lock key on my keyboard with windows 7 ?
It is windows 7 professional if that helps
I keep accidently catching the caps lock and then typing stuff all is capitals only to have to do it all again.
I cant find a way to disable it, any easy way ?
why do keyboards have Caps Lock keys, as no one types everything in capitals as that would be SHOUTING
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
This may be of use:
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-caps-lock-key-in-windows-vista/
Also there are some little things you can download to do this for you.
AntiCapsLock - www.orionsoft.cz/anticapslock/
BoldFinger - www.worldinabox.co.uk/BoldFinger/
CapsLockOff - www.rdrop.com/~daveb/CapsLockOff.html
FirstCap - www.digilander.libero.it/falsinfab/falsinsoft/firstcap.htm
PowerPro - www.windowspowerpro.com
Some folks like to reconfigure the key to just behave as another shift key.
Personally, I never have the problem & like to use the caps lock every now & then, so I don't know if any of these things are easy to implement.
Hope this helps somehow!
Cheers
PS - Some folks just pull the button off!

I did think of the 'lever the key off' , will try a registry tweak I just read about, thanks for the links :)
Back in a minute or two if it works. :)

I completely agree with that statement, only can I have mine with ketchup?

It is working perfectly now :)
A simple registry tweak from the link Chris posted ,
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-caps-lock-key-in-windows-vista/
Was simple, downolad the zip file, unzip, click on the correct .reg entry to disable caps lock and ignore all the warnings from windows 7 that try to put you off registry changes
Thanks Chris :)

You're welcome Mark.
Glad it worked for you.

I think what Mark was trying to say was:
0864=-[+4];,===1``23h9-86,./;'##]#5673
Unfortunately it looks like the shift lock was on, hence what Mark typed came out as complete nonsense! ;)

I was messing with the jibbeirsh above, was sorted as soon as rebooting after the .reg entry :)
