With a SACD, can these be played on a normal CD player and get the benefits ? Also if not could i rip them into FLAC and play them on my Sneaky DS ?

Hi, you'll only be able to play an SACD on a standard CD player if it's a hybrid disc ;) In other words it'll also need to have the standard CD track on a different layer, the CD player won't be able to read or play the SACD layer.

I don't think you'll find it's possible to rip the SACD track from any disc

The problem with ripping is that there are no compatible SACD drives available for a computer, your idea to play them as FLAC is I think valid, but it's just getting the FLAC files there in the first place that's the problem.

OK guys thank you. So you need a SACD player ?

...and SACD isn't available from the SPDIF digital outputs of the players, either, (by design, for this very reason...) so you can't do it that way... :( I think it is possible to get the data off an SACD, but it is a complex process that will not be worth the hassle I suspect! Yes, an SACD player, though some Blu-Ray/DVD players and early PS3's play them too.
