OK everyone, it's time I posted some photos of my current system. I've had the stand and the equipment for six years now, with the recent addition - now that I've moved to a new apartment - of a satellite TV tuner, a contemporary Sony Bravia TV set (which is unimportant) and new interconnect cables (Monster Interlink 250). Pardon the "quality" of the photos, I used a cel phone to take them.

Let's begin with...

1. A general view of the system from the left side (yes, there's CDs in these drawers).

2. A cat's eye view.

3. From top to bottom: The satellite TV tuner (just a run-of-the-mill unit, I don't care about TV anyway), the radio tuner and the DVD/SACD player.

4. The amplifier, along with a few CDs and DVDs...

5. A (lousy) close-up of the amp.

6. Another general view of the system... From the right-hand side this time.

7. Another view of the whole system...

8. And, finally, a view of where I usually relax...

As you can see, there are some pretty harsh limitations regarding the speakers' placement and this meant some pretty serious juggling to ensure that (a) both speakers' tonality would be pretty much the same, (b) the bass would not become mushy. And no, there's nothing I can do to remove these limitations. At any rate, it works rather well. The low frequencies are reasonably tight and fast, thanks to the Klipsch RB-25s' sense of pace and the good control of dynamics exerted by the amp (Audio Analogue Primo Settanta). Also, if you're still wondering about the DVD/SACD player I chose, the Philips DVP-9000S Cineos, it's basically a mildly upgraded (sonically) 963 with HDMI, 1080i support (via firmware upgrade), a rather unreliable transport and an LCD display that's illegible from any distance over 4 ft.
