Thanks for the lead Marco. Greeting to all.

My system is a 14 years old, tenderly loved Audio Lab 8000Q Pre amp, Audio Lab 8000M mono blocks, Copeland CDA 288 CD player, Martin Logan SL3s.

My music taste is eclectic, driven by the quality of the recording. For as we audiophile are well aware, the weaknesses of a recording are amplified by great systems.

Best wishes

Robert

Hi Robert, welcome to AoS chap :)

You are so right about recording quality as i have just discovered :eyebrows: Just sent an email to someone that makes music asking them to check their own recording for distortion  Plain to my ears & damn annoying :steam:

Nice little setup you have there, i bet those electrostatics are revealing :)

Get stuck in & enjoy your stay, the best to you

Welcome to AoS Robert,

Martin Logan SL3s - yum yum! Nearly bought a pair myself ten years ago - a friend of mine working near Rheindahlen, Germany, was able to purchase stuff from the American airbase's PX. These PXs stock just about everything an American serviceman could possibly want, including hi-fi gear. The SL3s were available for a fraction of what they would cost in the UK.

My friend offered to get them for me, but I declined realising that they would still have to be shipped back to the UK. It will always remain one of those 'what if' situations (?), still I'm content with my Quad '57s, that have been with me for over 35 years.

Always good to have another 'eclectic' music collector. :)

Enjoy the forum

Regards

Hello Robert.

I always lusted after a Copeland CDA288 having heard a friends in my system. I’ve never understood why they didn’t become the CD player to have. Vastly underrated pieces of kit imo.
Oh well, doesn’t matter now coz I’m file based.

Oh, welcome btw :)
