Hello to all,

Nice to join another forum for things Hi-Fi. I am an active member of Lenco Heaven, having been seduced by the delights of idler turntables.
My name is Chris - I'm an expat Kiwi, living in Vantaa near Helsinki and working for a UK company based in the Midlands, so I do spend a reasonable amount of time in England.

Like many, I went totally digital for a while but saw the light a few years back and have returned to analogue with a vengence. Also, really into vintage stuff and tubes as well now.

My current system includes:
Lenco L75 in heavy plinth /Jelco SA-750 arm/ Denon DL103 in alloy body
Lenco based DIY turntable in progress.
Pioneer PL-7 Idler.
Various cartridges including 2 London Deccas (grey & blue)

Rowen PP-06 Phono MM/MC
Graham Slee Revelation Phono

Icon Audio Stereo 40 MkII /KT88's
Leak Stereo 20 (Classique Sounds modified)
Leak Point One Passive
Tripletone EL84 SET
Rogers Cadet MKII

Saba vintage speakers in resonant cabs.

Look forward to talking with you guys here.

Hi there slideshaker...hello from another new member

Wow that's triggered some old memories, I used to have Leak valve power amp (from the pictures I think it was the Stereo 20) back in the late 70's, with what I assumed at the time was the compatible pre-amp, which included a very odd 44 stage scratch filter. I bought it second hand from an old radio enthusiast for about £50 back in the day. I'll have a look for it next time I'm back at the homestead.

Used to double up as an electric fire after about 40 mins...but a lovely sound.

Hi Chris, and welcome to AoS. I nearly let you off one of my wisecrack welcomes when I saw you were in Finland, (I tend to scare people who don't speak English natively more than those that do, if that's possible...) but as I see you're actually from NZ I reckon you're fair game! ;)

That said, you've not given me much material to work with - lot's of great gear (and we would love to see some pictures sometime if you can manage it) - maybe if you tell us what sort of music you like there will be something I can take the juice out of? ;)

Enjoy your stay, and have fun!

Thanks for the welcome guys, seems like a friendly place here.
Jonathon/Will - yes, the Leak is a very nice amp, mine has been modded to triode output, so about 10watts. They seem to be getting more desirable too.

Alex - you can have go mate! Music: big into blues, classic rock type stuff (Who, Stones, etc) soul (Stax mainly), modern stuff (Black Keys, White Stripes), plenty of variety......

Sure, will get some pics up when I get a bit more time (so never, then.......)
