Hi,
What type are the blue leds on Caiman/7520 Beresford dacs?

The optical led has gone and the Conrad (http://shop.conrad-uk.com/components/optoelectronics/led/standard-leds/leds-standard-3-mm-general/) has a lot of 3mm blue leds.

Have you checked that the Led is properly soldered in still? Also swap it over with another LED in the DAC so that you can confirm the LED is gone. I haven't heard of any going yet. They are supposed to be good for 10,000 hours or more.

StanleyB thanks for the reply.
It is my missing to say that the led has gone, because I put the pcb to an other cabinet. Probably something goes wrong!

At first has a little light and after that is turn off - by the way the optical input working well.
I will try with an other led and I will return back...

That's it Stan! The solder was broken! It is OK, now. Thanks.

Come on now Manolis, we won't hear of a re-cased Standac without demanding to see pictures of it! Let's see what it looks like, can we please?
Cheers

Hi Chris,

I am waiting the answer of a print company, if it is possible to print my layout, on 3mm brushed alluminium front face.

I will upload photos, when I complete the project...
