Custom power transformers

Hi good AoS members :)

I'm looking for transformer manufacturers that take on custom work, or if you like build transformers to my specifications ;)

So far i have looked at Airlink Transformers (http://www.airlinktransformers.com/custom-transformers.asp) who definately look like they could cater for my needs with some nice big toroids, i have also found a place about a mile from my house that can also make custom transformers. The problem being here is they'll be standard E & I transformers & thus at 2KVA they'll be kind of heavy :eek: These might be ideal though as i could pick them up once built rather than having them couriered to me. They also look like they could be a better price as well :eyebrows:

I'm sure that 6 (six) 2000VA transformers are going to be bloody heavy whether they are toroids or not, but as i'd rather use toroids i'm open to other suggestions before i go ahead & do anything :eyebrows:

I'm in no rush, if anyone can think of anywhere then please chirp up ;)

Before anyone mentions Antrim Transformers they might like to have a go at navigating their site :doh:

Looks like another possibilty, thanks Andr'e :) Only thing is their standard range only goes up to 1KVA, bigger might be quite a bit more expensive :scratch:

:lolsign: @ welding, no i'm going to make 6 amplifiers & equip each with a big transformer ;) We all know that a big PSU does a better job, just look at the Techie driven by an SR5 :eyebrows:

If you tell them it is for audio, thay can add mechanically stabilised core and additional wrapping between primary and secondary coils. :)
They will build toroids up to 6KVA.:stalks:

Thanks Andy :) I honestly don't think i'd like to handle a 6KVA transformer, my Krell KSA250 has a 4.5KVA & it weighs about 85lbs :eek:
