I got hold of a new Apple TV 2G a couple of weeks ago. Very good it is too considering it is only $99/£99.
It's a small unit but I wondering if any of the learned gentlemen on here / Audiocom etc would know of any possible mods?

There are pleanty 0 mods on the mac forums for the older modles.
The new Apple TV is not getting much love due to the fact it is made up from $60.00 worth of parts,has no hard drive, and is a shadow of it's former modle.

What is there to mod it only streams poor /low res movies and low res audio from the internet.
My opinion and it is just that is based on user reviews,I am happy as hell with the older model.

WHAT WAS APPLE THINKING?

Look at the link I put up to the Mac forums,If there is anything it will be there.
I didn't mean to bum you,but the new Apple TV was dissapointing to us who was hopeing the new model would expand memory and include Boxy,couch surfer ect..

There is a guy on ebay who adds software to the older ones so you can do way more stuff.The older ones give you a high def picture too.

I've got the original ATV as well as the new one. I actually prefer the new one sound wise to the old one (which I have XBMC'd and Boxee'd). That was the reason for asking if there were any improvements that could be done to it. The Sonos and Squeezebox ranges are "just streamers" too but there seem to be plenty of options to upgrade them.

what i dont understand is how there seem to be so many words that mean such stupid things from english to american english or visa versa that can end up in you looking really daft... its almost like it has been done on purpose ....

yeah, it must have taken a pretty odd american person to get front bum mixed up with back bum ... maybe its a religious thing ... something to do with a pure ring or something?
