Hello, I'm Nick and I joined this forum a short time ago. I'm English but currently living in West Wales where the monsoon season has recently restarted. I currently listen to vinyl via a Pink Triangle deck, cassette via a Revox B715, and CD and mp3/FLAC on PC via a CI Audio VDA2 DAC. All into an NVA AP80. Currently favourite speakers - Royd Minstrels.

Ooh! I'd love to see a picture of that, Nick! Welcome to AOS from another Nick, this one with a Studer 710 (and a couple of Naks :)). I've read conflicting stuff about the 715... a variation on the venerable B215 - or not? It does though sound like you have excellent taste in tape machines. I have just joined also from West Wales 1000 foot up cold wet and sunny fantastic.

I decided to start rebuilding my sound system. The hand built Electrostatics sound fantastic but just to big.
I have just built a pair of Decware Zob's they sound surprisingly good and I haven't even run the drives in yet.

Re Revox cassette decks.. If JazzBones is reading this, he'll know whom I'm referring to, but an old mate of mine who meticulously cares for his gear had one of these which gave no end of trouble, mainly I think because it wasn't used enough.. I saw one which had been used near the deck-plates on a Navy frigate or somesuch, kicked about all over and was still running within spec - just...

The Revox is actually a B215 - not sure why I typed 715 ......age? probably not alcohol as it was before midday ......who knows. I'm not a great one for taking pictures of hi-fi - bit like showing someone a photo of a meal you enjoyed, doesn't quite convey the experience. Anyway I'm really pleased to have found this gathering. Thanks for the strength of your welcome.

I've been delaying my traditional welcome, as I didn't want to scare Nick off... I did suspect at first that we had a lady join us :eek: (that would be the 3rd one ever, by my reckoning!) but then I realised Nick was probably not a girls name. There aren't that many Anna's that I could have fun with either (I don't mean that sort of fun) - so all that leaves me is a logg. And I'm not doing doo-doo jokes, I'll leave those for Marco! ;)
