Hi everyone, I recently acquired some Celestion 15 speakers courtesy of aquapiranha. Thank you very much.

They do sound very good indeed, but I have changed my amplifier and it struggles to drive these properly.

I had a modded Quad 405 now I'm using a 10 wpc tube amp.

Anyhow in the spirit of aos, they're up for recycling, to anyone who can make use of them.

Not that I'd like to see them broken up, they're far too good for that.

you must be able to collect though, Wigan/Leigh area.

Cheers all.

I'd have them if I was closer ... I would have had them the first time... If they were closer ... Ah well hope they find a good home

If they are the dittons with the ABR's, i think circa 1970 (give or take a year or two) a pair went for £60 on ebay just last week.

Well if no one else want's them before, i will be down that way in a couple of weeks, as long as you don't mind holding on to them till then.

great, i'm going down to manchester airport on the 28th, dropping rellies off, so like i said, if you've still got em, i'll ave em.

You know this is the upshot of not being married anymore, i can get the biggest brownest speakers on the planet without any seighing, tutting or moaning, i can drink brown beer with my mates, grow a beard and sit around all day on my days off with the stereo belting out wearing just my undies .:) happy happy days

I might be passing on Saturday depending on the snow that is due,

Mark.

WTF? Guess i'm a little confused  One thread lots of replies, another - didley squat (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?p=166471#post166471) :eyebrows:

Bargain at the price, & probably quite surprising to someone that hasn't encountered them previously :eyebrows:

E2A:-Hey, just ignore me

Just realised that you made the MS known on the free Celestion thread

The best speakers are often those used daily, so Mark Grant's suggestion for his workshop is a fantastic one IMO and of course they'll be ok, especially re-wired internally and with better caps than the tat that's almost certainly in there :) Good luck with 'em.

Mark, if you dint like them/want them I'll take em off you next time your down this way...
(mains block has made everything sound better :) ... )

Mark Grant

I thought it would Hamish :)
No magic inside, just quality wiring and attention to detail :)

If I dont get on with the speakers I will send them to you.

Good man!
I dont belive in a lack of magic ;)
Might get you to shorten a few cables for me... Can I borrow the 1m RCA-XLR pair I have in the studio? I want to try shorter cable on the left channel as I have had a move around...

Mark Grant

These speakers are back on the forum for free again as I need to make some space.

If Hamish still wants them get in touch.

The Vinyl Adventure

These where requested almost immediately by a forum member and are being delivered so they have now gone.

Thanks for all the enquiries and sorry for the disappointment for those that missed out.
