View Full Version : New Camera Wanted
I'm planning on upgrading my venerable Minolta Z5 (the last of the Minoltas) to something a little more up to date. I still want it to be fairly small and wieldy (the Z5 is excellent here), so that rules out an SLR but I want as near-SLR quality as I can get, especially in the lens.
So that leads me to the Panasonic Lumix GF1 which looks great and is even more sexy in the flesh.
Your advice please?

Lumix (Panasonic) cameras are stunning especially the ones with Leica lenses as these lenses don't get to the top of the tree for nothing.

It's a nice camera, but also look at its stable mate the Leica V-Lux 20 HD. The latter has a longer lens and is about the same price.

I have a gf1 ... It's a sexy bit of kit... :)
Bare in mind it ha been out for a while now and judging by the recent plummeting price is possibly due a replacement to be on the shelves march (announced January) ... That is a guess though
Stan The v lux 20 is basically a rebadged panny tz10 ... The gf1 has interchangeable lenses

I have got the Panasonic LX3 . If you know how to handle a camera then this will reward you with excellent pictures. Brilliant lense and nice to handle. You can take some amazing low light shots without flash. They have been out a few years now so you can pick up a new one for about £270 on Ebay. Go to Google and look for reviews and sample photos.
