I have been lurking on this board for quite some time and it's time to introduce myself.
My name is Bob and I am am an audiocholic. I've been spinning vinyl since I was 4. In my teens drooled for equipment I could not afford (silver era). Later splurged a lot on sideways upgrades and even lost interest in equipment for some time. But never lost interest in music.
Now listen to all formats except 8 track :-) and all kinds of music except heavy metal.
I admire engineering and despise lowlife shysters, shills and crooks that populate 80% of hifi business today.
I am strong opinionated and respect others who are the same, if they are not shills.
The reason I came to this forum was modding of 1200MKII, but I found much more. Would glad to pay back with advice on topics I am most familiar with - Nakamichi decks and PC as a music source.
At this time, I give strong preference to analog over digital. Hopefully, digital will evolve to something better during my lifetime.
My tastes are simple, I am easily satisfied with the best. Since I can not afford COTS, I have to mod and experiment. Synergy is the key.
I do not seek a symphonic orchestra in my room. I seek emotion as if listening to symphonic orchestra. And having fun along a way.
