Bit late to the party with the belkin mains conditioner shenanigans...damn, wish I'd been able to pick up a '40 for under £50!
If your not fast your last I suppose...

Anyways, the '30 seems available and i know a few of the guys here have bought one.
I already have a tacima, which to be honest I was a bit underwhelmed with. Plugging my Squeezebox and Beresford dac into it greyed out the sound a bit, and i preferred the sound straight from teh mains socket.

It DID improve DVD, Virgin Media and teh telly picture though.so kept it for that reason.

I like the look of the PureAv '30 as it will match my Cambridge Audio gear quite well AND it seems to be a well thought of upgrade?

I know the '40 is, but that seems to be unavailable at a sensible price, so Im looking at the '30.

Anyone compared to the 40?
Is it the same improvement but with less sockets?

How would it be in comparion to the tacima, Worth a punt you think?

Hi Gaz :)

The PF30 has got less digital filter components in it, for sure, compared to the PF40. I don't know about anything else.

I don't recall anyone doing a head-to-head with the PF40 on the W*gw*m. But that thread has got so long, I've given up following it! The PF40 seems to do no harm in my system, and may even be an improvement over Paul/Sodders' filter block. For the dosh (some of the PF30's were available for under £20!) I'd say give it a try. :)

Worked for me Gary, though not with the amps. Has improved the sources though. As Jerry says, for 20 quid it's worth giving it a go.

Was late to the party also - all PF40 and PF30 now gone - apart from one amazon seller - with whom price has now jumped from less than £20 for the PF30 to £70-00 - supply and demand I guess.

Will probably be a few hitting the classifieds soon (hopefully)

That's the one linked too earlier in the other thread and where I've ordered my 2nd from - not yet arrived (only ordered yesterday) but apart from ebay opportunists I reckon it is the best option at the moment.

I have some PF30's and a Tacima and I'm hoping to do some comparisons over the next couple of weeks. I've currently got my Tacima connected to the PF30 as that was the easiest way to get it setup initialy. So some of my low current equipment is running though both which may be affecting the results. I definitely seemed to get a subtle improvement in detail and noise floor, so I'll be interested to see what difference it makes when I take out the Tacima and get more PF30's connected up. I'll report back when I've got some results. :)

The APC H110 is also fantasic if they have on in your voltage.
It would most likely be called the APC H250
