Greetings,

Has anyone mounted a Technics EPA 100 arm on a Technics SL1200/1210?

I've searched and can't find anything.

If it is possible, what would be a good armboard and source for same?

And would some modification to the deck's top plate as well as the armboard be necessary to accomodate the large base of the EPA100 to get a fit?

I have an EPA100 coming from Japan and at this point the only table option I have is to mount it on my Luxman PD441. But I own two SL1210M5G's and would really prefer to mount the arm on one of these decks.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you already have the arm, I think you'd be better off getting an SP-25, which seems to go for about the same price as the SL-1200Mk2 on the S/H market.
I'm not sure if there's enough space to mount any 10" arm on the SL-1200Mk2. I know the EPA-500 won't fit, but it has a bigger base than the EPA-100, though.

You'll find the manual here: www.vinylengine.com (http://www.vinylengine.com) (you'll have to register) Some measuring will give you the answers pretty quick.

I reckon that it should fit. The EPA-100 is similar in size and shape to the EPA-120 (which is the one fitted to the SL-1200 as standard).

Similar in shape, but an inch longer...

I've looked up the numbers, and the correct mounting distance is 235mm (stock arm approx. 220mm). Arm mount size is 38mm. Looks like it could work.

Yep, the Garrard SP25 looks to be a great used buy and is very cheap at the moment. With a custom plinth, you can fit any external arm to it as well.

Oh, you mean the TECHNICS SP25  :lolsign:
