View Full Version : Hi everyone :)
Hello
My name is Mohammed, I live in Toulouse, France, I discovered this forum when a friend of mine recommended me the caiman as a DAC to decode my digitaly stored music
I must say this is a whole new world to me, I have a passion in photography and all this audio lingo sound mysterious to me, anyway, even if I didn't read much I do enjoy the helpful spirit of you guys in this forum :)
Cheers (and sorry for poor english)
Hello Mohammed - there's nothing wrong with your English, so no apologies needed there!
What other kit do you have apart from the (fabulous) Caiman? (Any chance of taking some photographs for the Gallery? Doesn't "photograph" sound like a really old word these days? (A bit like "gramophone"...)
And, since I'm asking, what sort of music do you like to play on your system?
Welcome to AoS and enjoy the forum.
Maybe I should have read your other post first...
"I've just received the caiman and I'm using it along with my AKG K701, as a classical music lover I'm delighted..."
Talk amongst yourselves, everyone... ;)
Thank you Alex, or is it Brian ? :)
I do play many kinds of music on my system, I basically don't like rap, techno and made for tv "music", I like dire straits, simon & garfunkel, bob marley, tracy chapman, jacques brel, umm kulthum and many many others
My favorite composer is Beethoven, I do especially like the Yehudi Menuhin interpretation of his symphonies, but I'm very open minded
Since I got midrange music equipment I've been looking for some fine recording to listen along, so any suggestions are welcome
I'll take some shots for the forum, although there is nothing extra ordinary about my equipment, the DAC is linked to my computer sound card with a good quality Toslink cable and loudspeakers are active, I don't plan to buy any other equipment before a long time, since it is expensive, I'm just happy rediscovering my music collection with what I've got
Thanks again ;)
Ah, so not just classical - it wasn't such a silly question after all!
Its always nice to see pictures of systems, whatever they are - basically I think we are all nosey!
Hello Mohammed.
The audio lingo, you sort of get used to it after a while. Mostly, it’s not terribly helpful.
Your English is excellent btw.
Given your taste in music and equipment I doubt we will have much in common but welcome from me all the same :)
