Yes, could anyone help Darren with fitting a Timestep PSU to his Techie?

I'm thinking of Martin T here in particular (or anyone else who has done it themselves) :)

Hi Darren,

No worries. It's not a difficult job at all - you just need to know where on the internal PCB the DC lead going to the PSU is connected to.

If you don't get any joy on this thread, try posting the same request in the DIY room :)

Marco

I have drawn up some illustrated instructions on how to apply an external DC power supply to the SL-1200/1210 (whether Timestep, Paul Hynes or anything else for that matter). It's in a Word document - is there a way of posting that here on AoS or would I have to pull it apart and post as a sticky somewhere?

Hi Hugo,

Best ask Nick (Beechwoods) about that. He'll be able to help. Just PM him, mate :)

Let us know how you get on, Darren

Make sure you see Hugo's excellent thread here: http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8118

Oh, and incidentally, I would thoroughly recommend removing the existing PSU from underneath the platter, as this is a major upgrade on its own!

Hi marco,

Yes will let you know how i get on and read hugo's thread.

I was under the impression you had to remove the original psu anyway but will do.

Sorry guys I got to this late and I'm afraid I never did the original Timestep install. There are some photos hereabouts that will help but perhaps Hugo's offer is the best.

Ah, one of these photos of mine just shows the solder point for the +21V (the -ve connection goes to an earth tag):
