Hi everyone!
Its been a while I'm registered in here, and I have been too lazy to do my system pictures. Same very basic system have been in few places I have been mooving to. Only recent additions are Dune and Caiman. I guess I am settled now. So here it is

Listening position :)

Pioneer PD-S507 CD player

CD player rearly use today because of this:

now I have Airport express hooked up to Caiman instead of CD player. Most of CD's ripped in apple lossless format. But Caiman mostly is used as
headphone DAC/AMP combo when I am on board the ship. There is nothing much to show I guess :)

It looks like a nice room you've got there Atis, thanks for sharing your pictures! Do you use the Dune for video only, or as an audio disc spinner as well? How do its network media functions perform?

I use Dune for video only. To use it with anything else(streaming network libraries, not sure how does it work) you need TV screen to see menus, cos Dunes display shows only time even with CD's no track number at all. I haven't hooked the Dune with my network yet. I guess I will have to get Airport extreme base station to get Airport express work in bridge mode(that's what its called I guess). But I am not sure if we need that at home :). USB HDD is connected to Dune and it works very well. Just lately got airport express and use macbook pro to play music wirelessly. Before that used CD player.

Forgot to mention that speakers are B&W CM1 and amp exposure 2010 series. speakers look really small in this big room.

I got an Exposure 2010 after Art Dudley's rave review in Stereophile. Very nice amp, but I suspect that Artie got a bit carried away for reasons of his own! :eyebrows:

I bet it drives those B&Ws well. And the lassie seems to be enjoying the system - or did you just bribe her to sit there with a bowl of crisps for the photo? :)

The CM1's are good on string tone, but don't have any bass :( My favourite miniatures are the AVI N5's, which have a less "forced" presentation - IMO... ;) There are a couple of pairs of CDM-7's on fleabay with your name on 'em :)

Is the right hand speaker next to a wall? try angling the speakers well in towards you, which may sharpen the stereo image by minimising stray reflections from the side wall hitting your ears too soon.

Oh, sorry, welcome to the madhouse

Ohhh, right speaker is not right to wall but quiet close. I have a bit of extra cable and can move speakers easily which I do. I agree, string instruments sound really good with CM1's. Turn it louder and you get some more bass :eyebrows:

Many thanks!

Thanks,
I'm still trying to hide stuff that I don't need so often somewhere. Actually thats only reason why my PL-12D is leaving :( looks good in my room...

Hope the stock Techie will be as good or better than the Pl12D. The Pioneers suspension would help where you have it. before you ditch it, remove the lateral balance weight on the back, as without mods, it makes things worse..

If your new Techie is going where the Pioneer is, PLEASE can you invest in some isolation for it, even going so far as to the Isonoe feet? Feet and mat should have a dramatic effect on isolation...
