No one would have believed, in the first year of the second decade of the twenty-first century, that human affairs were being organised around a thirty-two year old concept album, watched from the timeless worlds of webspace.

Few men even considered the possibility of going to see this concert and yet, across the gulf of hyperspace, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this gig with envious eyes, and slowly and surely, they drew their plans to get tickets...

Guess what I'm spinning now... (I know, wrong thread...) I think I have to get tickets, one of the first albums I remember listening to (and being blown away, when I was only 9...) Only slight issue is that the wife hates it, so I guess a trip to London "Christmas Shopping" is likely to cost me! Cheers for the heads up though Steve.

Good one Alex. I don't care what anyone says, I absolutely love this album and have done since I was a kid. It has brilliant musicianship as well as fantastic vocals and a great story line too. It is a real shame the some of the original cast can't take part, Phil Lynott most notably though I did like David Essex in it. And Julie Covington....

I would have thought the chances of getting tickets were a million to one, but they're still on sale...

Sorry, I'll stop it now! :) I totally love the album too, had it on vinyl, lost it on vinyl, bought it on CD, and only two weeks ago managed to buy a pristine copy on vinyl again as part of a job lot of records. (Resisted the SACD as I no longer have a 5.1 system, and not sure the stereo version would be any better...?) Will definitely be trying to get to the 02 on the 12th December if I can...

Agreed. The whining and annoying David Essex does spoil it for me.

Still great after all these years, and what a voice Richard Burton had for story telling!:) i remember where i was when i first heard the album.
i still have it on vinyl somewhere.

It reminds me of long car journeys with my folks when I was a nipper....

The voice of the devil is heard in our land!

I went down a little pub in Harborne last year, we sat there, and someone put the whole thing on the jukebox, and they played it really loud, It was brilliant!

Saw the show last year with David Essex and Justin Hayward, it was very good but sadly the venue has the acoustics of an aircraft hangar + the incessant talking from the guys behind us nearly forced an extermination.

Overall a good stage show but the absence of Phil Lynott and Richard Burton makes it somewhat sad. To have seen it done live with all the original cast would have been an experience.

War of the Worlds is an excellent album imho especially Forever Autumn, The Heat Ray and Thunder Child.

Saw the show last year at the NIA in Birmingham with Jeff himself, Chris Spedding, Herbie Flowers, Justin Heyward and Chris Thompson, as well as a hologram of Richard Burton and a huge fighting machine.

Brilliant, it was, especially the Hologram's curtain call!

Love the album too!
