Since I can now play flacs I might as well go balls out and get my self a nice little headphone amp
It must be highly portable, preferably nice and thin so 9v battery cmoys are a no go.
It must also connect to the port on the bottom of the phone not headphone socket (with an adapter if needs be which I can't find either)
Rechargeable would be good
I'm sure there is a brand beginning with "n" or maybe "v" that make something as described?
This is the line-out adaptor you want: http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/ibasso-line-out-dock-adapter-for-ipod-iphone-prodid-1201.html
My recommended headamp won't do (The Neco) - as it is too lardy - how much do you want to spend? Not heard it, but another ibasso product - the T4 - might fit the bill at a ton? http://www.themp3company.co.uk/product/ibasso-headphone-amplifiers-ibasso-t4-headphone-amplifier-grey.php
What about the FiiO e5 ? A lot of good reviews and only £15 from Amazon.

Hi Hamish
Just a reflection...today I was listening to flac files through my Shure 'in ear' things. Can't remember the model they were just under £100 a few years ago.
...but the whole thing sounded rather nasty. Either Flac or apple lossless.
switched back to my ancient Bose 'noise cancelling' headphones (about 10 years old...the original model I think). All is sweetness again, and the diff between apple lossless and flac is obvious, both listenable, but flac much better.
