anyone ever seen something like this before?
some has a modded PIONEER PD-91 on the BAY at the moment;

i'd sure as hell never dream of doing such a thing
to my -91, but, to each their own, i suppose...

It looks like a direct solder (?) which isn't a bad idea in theory.

It looks to me as if the standard phono sockets are still there & what they have done is run a set of leads through a load of external screening & clamped it on near the player :scratch:

No big deal, undo the clamps & pull off the external screen to reveal cables that will disconnect :) Perhaps the guy lives near a high power radio transmitter, no other idea why anyone would do such a thing? :eyebrows:

i could be wrong though ;) However it definately looks like the clamps are fixed around something the size of a phono plug...
