Hey Cats,
Thought I'd Take the Marantz Model 1250 out for a workout last night. My Pal who builds audio gear built a magnificent power supply for my other Bud's home system so we thought it would be a good idea to try the Marantz to see how well it feeds it power and to gauge the improvement in sound from the amp.
The Source was Rega Saturn, speakers were Klipsch LaScalas, all cabling were Kimber.

The result was rather impressive, although sounding good on and off the power supply being plugged into the power supply the Marantz sounded a little more dynamic and some hash/edge was removed from the highs especially when listening to violins and Emmy Lou Harris's voice.

Yes, that's a proper piece of Hi-Fi. More knobs and switches than you can shake a stick at.

Yep it's a great old beast and sounds nice too. Put it back in the Beta system at home last night, just waiting for my Bud to return the Ascend Acoustics to finish it up. Gear swapping again :eyebrows:

Marantz is a sure winner up and down the range. I have the little 2215B and simply love it. I ran a lead to the antenna on my roof and kicked my AM reception up a big notch as I listen to old-time radio, talk and sports. Still trying to refine the FM reception, it isn't perfect yet but not too far off...
