SME Armboard for Technics SL-1500mk1

I am trying to find one of these. If anyone has any idea of where to get one? I have tried to Email Soundsupports and got not no reply Help:mental:

I've asked dave cawley to check his SL150 to see if the modern plates will actually fit, as the arm on your deck is fixed by three points whereas the SME plate is attached with four. You'll also need the screening "can" which is different to the flat plate covering the terminal block underneath.

I also have to respectfully ask, "Why do you wish to change the Technics 1500 tonearm?" It's actually better suited to modern cartridges than the "Improved" version of the SME 3009 mk2 and the Mk1 version won't fit 'cos the counterweight stub assembly is too long out the back and you won't be able to use the lid at all. if you were thinking of an M2-9, I'd suggest you bought a modern SL12** model and a Jelco 750D which are cheaper than an M2-9. the difference could be spent on feet and a mat at least.

I think they may have folded. Web site is still up but the Email function won't work.

Maybe someone can confirm they're gone or what the situation is if they haven't. It would be a shame if they have gone.

DSJR , I may have to go the route of using a SL-12xx arm. Just thought I would try and see what it sounds like. I figured it would be easy to get the armboard, boy was I mistaken:(

In my opinion, the current tonearms are INFERIOR to the old 1500 arm, especially with modern lower-compliance cartridges. Just my experience, that's all, but don't change the arm unless it's damaged with no hope of repair...
